What We Believe

Our faith begins with God's Word. We teach and preach from the King James Bible.

We do not expect everyone who walks through our doors to already understand the Bible or Christian beliefs. Whether you have studied Scripture for many years or are opening a Bible for the first time, you are welcome to come, listen, learn, and ask questions.

The Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures are inspired by God and are our authority for faith and Christian living.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16–17 KJV

God

We believe there is one God, the Creator of all things.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1 KJV

“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”
— Mark 12:29–30 KJV

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came into the world, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 KJV

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
— John 3:16–17 KJV

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
— John 14:6 KJV

Salvation

We believe every person has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation is not something we earn through good works. It is God's gift through Jesus Christ.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
— Romans 3:23–24 KJV

📖 Romans 3:23–24 KJV — Read on Blue Letter Bible

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
— Ephesians 2:8–10 KJV

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
— Mark 1:14–15 KJV

Following Jesus

Becoming a Christian is more than attending church. Jesus calls those who believe in Him to follow Him.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
— John 14:15–17 KJV

The Church

We believe the church is a body of believers who gather to worship God, learn His Word, encourage one another, pray together, serve, and share the Gospel.

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
— Acts 2:42–47 KJV

Baptism

We believe those who have trusted Jesus Christ should follow Him in baptism. Baptism does not earn salvation; it is an act of obedience by a believer who has placed faith in Jesus Christ.

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
— Matthew 28:18–20 KJV

The Lord's Supper

We believe Christians should remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the Lord's Supper, as He instructed His followers.

“And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”
— Luke 22:19–20 KJV

📖 Luke 22:19–20 KJV — Read on Blue Letter Bible

The Return of Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will return.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”
— John 14:1–4 KJV
